How to use the loading control? - (Oct/30/2010 )

I've run a WB with beta-actin as the loading control. I've quantified the actual protein I was looking for but I don't actually know what I'm supposed to do with the loading control. Am I meant to quantify that as well? Why? Help would be appreciated!

How did you quantify? You must have quantitated relative to something, if it wasn't relative to the loading control, then you seem to have mis-understood the quantitation process.

Ah ok - after obtaining a value for each protein band, was I supposed to make it a proportion to the value on their respective loading control band?
