Using FASTA Seq to Compare protein Seq. - (Oct/25/2010 )

Hi all,

It is my first time using bioinformatics to analyze protein data. My question is fairly simple (I hope) I have a protein of interest, which I can find through NCBI, I want to use a program to align this FASTA sequence bewteen four of five organisms to look for homology.

What program should I use and how do I go about putting them all on one page and seeing how much of a percent similarity there is between them.

Thank you all

If I understand correctly that all you need is a simple alignment software, try ClustalX.
