storage cytosolic fraction - (Oct/25/2010 )

Hi all, I'm going to fractionate mouse skeletal muscle using Focus Subcell kit. In order to facilitate the organization of the experiment, Do you know if a post mitochondrial (cytosolic) fraction can be stored or freezed until further centrifugation at 100,000g? it contains cytosol and membranes which I want to separate for protein analyses.
Thank you in advance,

Fred

Does the kit supply a buffer that contains a protease/phosphatase inhibitor cocktail. Using inhibitors will reduce degradation of proteins and will keep the cytosolic fraction in good condition for longer storage at -80oC.

Kindest regards.

Neale.
