Secondary antibody recovery - (Oct/22/2010 )
Hi.
As (I believe) the majority of the people do, I re-use primary antibodies. Either if they are diluted in milk or BSA I store them at -20ºC. On the other hand, in my previous lab, we never re-used the diluted secondary(+HRP) antibody. But in my new lab I am short of secondary Ab and therefore I would like to know if it is possible to re-use it.
Thanks!

yes you can, but not in -20C. It is recommended to keep at 4C if you dilute your antibody in TBST with milk.
I even re-use my primary though the concentration drops every time I use

Oops, I kept it at -20º C on Friday. Do you think it will still work?

Hola,Waiting the answer of your first adviser, I reuse both 1º and 2º abs and I store them at -20 after each use, only I taw them in a water bath at room temperature. Good luck
