Storage of bacteria in fetal calf serum - 70 or - 80 ? - Temperature (Aug/24/2010 )

Hi

May I ask which temperature is most optimal for keeping bacteria in fetal calf serum. -70 or -80? I did observe the usual temperature for storage of bacteria is -70 degree celcius at the other lab... But due to the original factory setting in my freezer I have been using -80 for a long time. I am paranoid whether this is acceptable or whether this will have any effects on my isolates??

Thanks!

Have a good day =)

No problem at all

It is not a problem to store them at -80, just more expensive on power.
