elemination yeast contamination - (Aug/07/2010 )

unfortuanately my cell culture is contaminated with some kind of yeast cells, which are growing very slowly and until now didnt affect my cell growth rate, is there any way to eliminate these yeast cells or I should just discard my cells? (acctually my cells are a transfected line which I dont have any bachup of them)

It is always best to throw them out if you can as the treatments often damage the cells themselves. As you don't have a backup (could you purchase one?), you can try treating with Fungizone or other antimycotic.
