SDS boiled samples - (Jul/22/2010 )

Hi,

Can someone tell me if proteins from a complex mixture (like a lysate) can undergo degradation over a period of time after being boiled in laemmli buffer and stored at room temperature?Quite a number of proteases are known to be active in the presence of SDS,is there any chance that proteases can actually refold in the above mentioned condition and cause degradation? Maybe a basic question but haven't been able to get a clear answer until now :P

Thanks,
DeeDee.

I would say there is no proteolytic activity left after BOILING your sample.
