Bacteria Media (NZY+ broth) - (Jul/20/2010 )
I am making NZY+ broth for a transformation protocol using XL10-gold ultracompetent cells.
My question is: in the recipe, is casamino acids a suitable substitute for NZ amine (casein hydrolysate)? I believe they are considered the same thing, but wanted to get a confirmation.
Thank you.

casein hydrolysate is nothing more then the milk protein casein that is hydrolysed... so yeah Casamino acids , wich are nothing more then the acids obtained from hydrlosysis of casien is ok. (do keep in mind it does not have tryptophan..)
