Frozen cells in -80 - (Jul/06/2010 )
Hello,
I froze some cells in May and I put them in -80 fridge. Usually I transfer them to liquid nitrogen storage the next day but I seem to have completely forgotten about them until now. Can I still transfer them to liquid nitrogen or is it too late? If it's too late, why?
Thanks.

I always save my cells at -80C because I can immediately find them in the freezer. Liquid nitrogen tanks are always packed with cryotubes and hard to find what you want.however I don't recommend it to you ....but anyway, yes, you can use it now or put it into nitrogen. I have used cells that have been in -80 for nearly 2 years. many cells didn't survive but still I could revive them.
