Cryopreservation - Mr. Frosty (Jun/01/2010 )

Hi!

Can sme1 let me know an alternate to Mr. Frosty. I want to use some other inhouse material as an alternative. Is there some way? Plz let me know!

We use those foam racks your 15ml centrifuge tubes come in. Put the cryovials in and then turn another rack upside down on top to sandwich them in. -80 overnight (or over the weekend!) and then into LN2 the next day.
Never had a problem with it.

And a lab mate of mine uses those plastic eppie racks, with no problems either.
