converting OD 600 reading to DNA concentration - Totally having a brain hiccup (May/24/2010 )

So I'm trying to convert a simple OD 600 reading to DNA concentration. For an unknown reason, it just isn't working for me. Please help!

My OD 600 reading is 2.06. I did a 1:100 dilution to obtain it. And I'm just looking to calculate the concentration.

Help me!

check this it might be helpfull.
(however: they use the normal wavelength: OD600 is generally used for bacterial cel celturure measurements, not DNA concentration, so I do not understand why you used OD 600

Sorry, I meant to type A260/280

Someone else was talking about their wacky OD reading and I typed it.

This just isn't a terrific day for me ;)

We've all had those days... but rather than the 260/280 which tells you purity/protein contamination you just need the A260 for concentration.

(OD260)*50*dilution=concentration in ug/ul.
