Trizol RNA extraction - (Apr/30/2010 )

In trizol RNA isolation, after adding trizol and homogenization, the samples can be stored at -80 for a long time. But I just realized I left my samples at -20 and forgot to bring them to a -80. Does anyone know if it affects RNA isolation?

Many thanks in advance!

Trizol samples are pretty stable - so long as they haven't been subjected to a lot of heat. The trizol is very effective at preventing degradation by RNases.

So, you would think a weekend in -20 won't have any effect on the integrity of the RNA? Thanks a lot!
