Cell Count - (Apr/09/2010 )

Hello
Please help me with following:

I need 1,6 mil cells and I have to make 12 ml cellsuspension.
I have now a cellsuspension of 5 ml with 160 000 cells/ml.
This means 5 ml* 160 000 cells/ml= 833333 cells

I want 1.6 mil cells/ml
This means 833333 cells/1,6 mil cells/ml = 0,5 ml=500ul
I already have the cells in 5 ml so shall I add 500 ul to the 5 ml cell suspension, but then I will get a 5,5 ml cellsuspention with 1,5 mil cells/ml, but I want to do a 10 ml cellsuspension and not a 5,5 ml.
How can I make a 10 ml cell suspension and I want 1,5 mil cells/ml if I have a cellsuspension of 5 ml with 160 000 cells/ml. ?

10ml X 1,500,000 cells/ml requires 15,000,000 cells.

You said you have 5 ml x 160,000 cells/ml = 800,00 cells.

You do not have enough cells for that volume.


You can take the 800,000 cells you have; centrifuge and resuspend to 0.533 ml

800,000 cells / 0.533 ml = 1,500,000 cells/ml
