Cardiac stem cells - (Mar/10/2010 )
hi all,
I' m currently working on cardiac stem cells from adult and neonatal mice. I have tried isolating the c kit cells by primary cell culture following Anversa's method. Briefly I' m culturing the cardiac tissue explants in IMDM medium supplemented with 10% FBS,0.1mM mercaptoethanol, 100U penicillin and 100 microgram/ ml streptomycin.
But the facs analysis shows very less no of cells 
. Can anyone give me a suggestion on how to enrich my cell population.
I will be happy to have any simple suggestion,as i am totally blocked 
, and dont know how to proceed, what to do?

What criteria are you using to decide if something is a cardiac stem cell or something else? Which specific CD markers are you looking at when you run your FACS analysis?
