What is this ? - Cell culture contaminant (Mar/05/2010 )

Dear members,

Appreciate if you could help me identify this contaminant of our cell culture... picture here. I thought it was a mould but it didn't grow on SDA.

Could they be long chains of bacilli?

Certainly looks like fungus. Does it really matter though?

Throw out your cells and any media etc used- decontaminate hoods, waterbaths, incubators etc and start again.

My cells looked like you... sort of bubble and i'm not sure as well... certainly need other opinions...
