After PhD planning ^^ - (Feb/17/2010 )
Hey all you lovely people, I havent posted in a while but here goes!
After my PhD I plan on going to Med school (originally I planned on dropping out on my PhD but I got an awesome new post doc to help me and so I stayed). The problem I have is that I got such crappy A-levels that Im scared that I wont get in 
just wondering if anyone had gotten into Med school in the UK (has to be the UK cos I cant take my lizards transatlantic! heh) with poor A-level or do you reckon I will have to redo them?

I think you should talk to the school admission people and if possible have an informal chat with the head of department. Provided that your PhD, (and BSc) are in biological science, they should be superior academic credentials compared to your A levels. Still do talk with the admission people.
PS. ARe you sure you want to do this? Medical school is another 6 years. Then there is internship for another 2 years (i think). If you did your BSc and then PhD that is at least 6 years already.
If you want to be out of lab, my suggestions is go for Law or MBA or education. Medical school will be very tough. Good idea is have some childern and grow him up and send him or her to medical school.

Thanks for that guys. No I dont want children and I will be only 32 when I finish so age is not that big an issue. Its all that I want even though I feel like a traitor for wanting it... Law would bore me rigid. Another 6 years is nothing when it gets you to what you want.
I have spoken to a couple and they have told me there is no need to redo my GCSEs or A-levels.. except one that doesnt think my PhD contains maths ¬¬
