MTT assay problem...!!! :( - cellular debris (Feb/09/2010 )

I tried MTT assay with cancer cells (A549 & SHSY-5Y), and tried the isopropanol/HCl to dissolve the formazan, but the cellular debris still remains in the well and i think this causes interference in OD readings.
How can I get rid of that?

I currently use MTT for my cytotoxicity assays and I use DMSO for the readings. Have you tried this?
