Dilution problem - 10 ug/ml to.... (Jan/09/2010 )
looking for help with this dilution calculation:
I need to make 0.5 ug/ml from my stock of 10ug/ml. My final concentration is 8 mls. thanks

Here is how to work these out:
c= concentration, v= volume
c1 x v1= c2 x v2
10 x v1= 0.5 x 8
v1= (0.5 x 8)/10
v1= 4/10
= 0.4
So you need 0.4ml of your original solution in your 8ml final solution.
