RNA - bad 230/280 and 260/280 ratio - what to do?? (Oct/27/2009 )
did a series of RNA extraction and one sample had very bad qualitiy 260/280 ratio: 1,14 and 230/280 ratio: 0,99!
what can i do to improve the quality of this sample prior to reverse transcription??

u can try passing ur samples thru Qiagen column for purification. it SOMETIMES, improves the quality...
i hate 2 say this, but if I were u, i will do the extraction again, coz the ratios are really bad.....

I would go with re-prepping the samples. I have never been able to "clean up" samples that started out looking ugly. It saves time to just start again
