DNA concentration and Genome - (Sep/22/2009 )

Can any one help how to convert the concentration of DNA (e.g. 464 ng/ul) to amount of genome (or DNA base pairs)? For example, I've a C elegans DNA concentration of 464 ng/ul. Now I want to know the amount of genome present in the solution.

c=n/v and n=mass/molar mass should do you. For this you will need to know the molar mass of the genome which can probably be estimated by the number of bases in it and average nucleotide use.
