can PBMC proliferate without mitogen??? - Isolate and culture the PBMC with mitogen (May/13/2005 )

HI, as i know that PHA is a mitogen for the T-lymphocytes,but is it possible that the mononuclear cells can proliferate in the absence of mitogen??

I use OKT3 (or soluble aCD3, day 1 only), 1ug/ml followed by IL-2 (day 2 and after each split)

it sorta depends on what you want to do with the cells later.
