temperature of silver staining - (Nov/09/2006 )
i got a protocol of silver staining from my labmate, it says the whole process goes at 4 c. guys! and you?

At 4ºC it works, but is slower than at room temperature, just take care it doesn't pass too much time, precipitation can be excesive. 15-20 min should be enough. Good luck!!!

Well when I was running silver stains...I sat in the cold room at 6 Celsius to do the staining.
If the temperature of the room is control, the straining process becomes more predictable. Also as mentioned the process is slowed at lower temperature, so it gives you more time.

thanks to "perneseblue" and "aleruiz", i will stain at 4ºC. actually the process of silver staining at room temperature goes so faster that i can not control it.
