In Switzerland we call this "Berliner"
Edith says that "Berliner" means "person/thing from Berlin"
we call it "Faschingskrapfen" and it is filled with apricot jam....
Ummm, I would go for Beliner .. Geb'z . . wht U said is more difficult then even ur name
but berliner is such a German word we would never ever use it
Southern Germany also says "Krapfen", the others "Pfannkuchen" or "Berliner" similar to other countries (Boules de Berlin, Bolas de Berlim or Berlijnse bollen...and so on).
Our paczek is usually filled with wild rose petals jam and this orange bit at the top is candied orange peel.
But there are many fillings
Next week is Fat Thursday, I am going to eat many of them, yum yum ^^
Wednesdays - complimentary Bento days
Just coming back from lunch - went a little far from the lab today : 7 min-walk away!
Nan & sikh-kabab-green pea - curry with glass full of lassi
Burnt so much calories walking back that stopped at the univ shop for a Snicker and Yogurt
(I could not read wht was written) but ate it! Was good meat-ball with some kind of sauce and rice.
It is still me eating and no one else Where is Geb'z w her camera . . hopes/expectiations . .
Wednesdays are Bento days - just had mine.

I had tempura soba for lunch and then pancakes (crepe's with lemon and sugar). I made them last night and brought them in for the lab as it was pancake day (shrove Tuesday).

I love it so much. It is just 20mins walk from the univ and 6min of cycle. If it were nearer, I would go everyday - now once in a week or twice. Good to know they serve Tantanmen there in north too. Is it the same chain - Akaoni/Akatatchu?
