Hi all forummers,
Well, I have just made the great leap out of the lab into the land of science operations management, at the glorious Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. My days at the bench are numbered, and I'm wrapping things up for my successor, while learning the ins and outs of finance, ordering, compliance and IP, not to mention OH&S. I hope to be able to drop in to the forum occasionally, but I think the learning curve is going to have to flatten out a bit before that happens!!

So to all of you with whom I've shared forum-threads, thanks for the challenges and word- and mind-games, and to all the newbies and students, just remember, your mantra should be "Do the experiment".

Thats great...erm.... they still got any vacancy? I don't mind end up in just swiping the lab's floor for such a great organization.

So you're taking the fish and leaving us eh...well, not so fast, mister.....and not without a proper roast (tho sushi is quite good too)......awwww swanny, you're gonna trade your lab coat for a suit and tie? and you'd get a corner office with your plated name on the door? and your very own secretary? with endless meetings day in day out....

management? ppfftt.....hope you won't become one of those guys that the lab bench guys love to hate...but a guy who'd make the difference bec he'd been where the others were and has got a better perspective ....we will miss you for sure swanny but it's a move forward so we're definitely happy for you....just drop by once in a while to play the word and mind games...who knows, they might come in handy...and remember, if you need some R & R....we're here to sass you....I mean to support you......goodluck...
