The title says it all! I can soon say goodbye to Cambridge (YAY!) and move to Edinburgh in July :rolleyes: :) :D

<insert manic happy dances>

So my second post-doc will be at the Roslin Institute.

Any Edinburgh folk on here?

:D

Nice,
although for a lot of people it may sound strange.
Cambridge here is concidered as "the place to be".
Toghether with some other big universities like yale etc..

Just out of curiosity, post doc as what or in what subject? What did you study/promoted on?

Also: its not really close to eachother, so you really gotta move everything.

I wonder how people with family etc. .. do it, or is that the case for you?

They may say that about Cambridge but my experience has been absolutely *^%£. I would not recommend my department to ANYONE!!!

I did my PhD in B cell development then moved into acute myeloid leukemia (hitsone modifications etc etc). My new job will still be in the myeloid lineage - making a knockout rat!! :rolleyes: :)

Yeah - we have to move everything but my husband hates his current job so is happy to make the move :D (Thanks goodness!)

Oh I see,

so cambridge isnt all that like we hear.. oh well, I suppose its just the name and reputation.
For some reason people always think the gras is greener on the other side.
What department were you in that ?

LOL I read your current husband instead of current job haha
