What is the best possible way to keep backup of the citation in EndNote in case if it crash so just for the precuationary measure.

for most of them, yes
for other, it is always possible to import a Tab-delimited citation in EndNote

concerning the backup, I automatically save a folder that contains all EN files and PDFs every week;)

Can you please let me know too how the folder can be automatically saved and maintained.? Well you may think of it as a stupid question but to be honest i am not a computer geek.

Endnote is one of the worst referencing softwares I have come across. I am switching to Zotero (Firefox plugin) and have considered BibTeX, which I would use if I was using LaTeX as my text editor. Both are absolutely free and much, much better than Endnote.

CiteULike is also good.

Regarding backups: Just burn a CD or DVD on a daily/weekly basis or get an external hard drive (160 GB is less than $100 US here) and set it up so that it mirrors your hard drive. Otherwise check to see if your institution has some backup server space and do it on there (see IT people for this)

I have been using Endnote and it works very very well for me. I love the cite as you write function and it allows me to export citations from databases and import them into Endnote.
