Accidently added Tween to 4% PFA Soln to fix embryonic brains! - (Sep/20/2008 )
Hey all,
I accidently made up my 4% PFA solution using PBS that had 0.1% Tween-20 in it. I incubated the embyonic heads overnight at 4C in this solution. Will this affect the integrity of my results, and if so how? Any predictions? Unfortunately these samples were precious, and this may set me back a month or two.
Thanks in advance. I would greatly appreciate any input/ideas

hi,
i personally would not think that 0.1% tween will hurt your experiment. as you know the fixation process purely based on chemical moiety cross linking. i would say if it all it shows some effect that may reduce the efficiency little bit. Moreover, 0.1% tween does not interfere with antibody binding.
gud luk
