Pages: 1 2 Next

hi guys

as a new driver, i face problems with my car from time to time
yesterday for example, i went for shopping and when i wanted to drive back home....
the key refused to turn in the switch..
i thought that i entered it wrong,,so i tried again and again..
still not turned

i turned the steering wheel slightly
and thanx to god
it worked sleep.gif

still..don't know the reason for that!

anti-theft - steering lock???
sometimes it can be a bit hard to remove...

FROM WIKI:

QUOTE
With the introduction of federal vehicle regulation in the United States in 1968, FMVSS 114 required the impairment of steering wheel movement, to hinder motor vehicle theft; in most vehicles this is accomplished when the ignition key is removed from the ignition lock.

has to do something with the steering-wheel-lock-mechanism that avoids to move the steering wheel when the car is parked.....happens sometimes but nothing is wrong with your car tongue.gif

ila is right i think. to lock the steering wheel some cars need that you turn it until hearing something like a "click", then when you try to turn it on only move it so that it removes the lock. if you don't move the steering wheel after you turn off your car it shouldn't lock and you can turn it on normally.

nothing wrong with the car...yes
each time i park it normally
only this time i face such a " lock"
what causes such action, i mean within the car itself! unsure.gif

My guess is that the rubber seal around the window or door is broken. It only needs a small hole to sound like the is quite a breeze blowing. If it increases as you speed up and/or you can't hear it from other parts of the car, then I would place money on it being a broken seal.
