Hi, all,

How do you guys get rid of bubbles on ELISA plates? Hot needle method is slow and there are too many of these bubbles. Thanks.

Hi, genehunter. I use an small micropipette tip or something similar, blotting it in whatmann paper or similar when it lose "activity" (it must be dry to destroy bubbles). Unfortunately, it is not a quickly method, but that's how we do it in my lab...

hallo,

we use a commercial hair-dryer.

Simple answer (but not necessarily helpful to you now): sad.gif
Reverse pipette your samples, so you don't make bubbles.
Bubbles in wash step don't matter, obviously...

Blower worked well. Thanks! laugh.gif biggrin.gif

swanny, I have some detergents in it and I was running a reaction using the ELISA plates, not just ELISA cool.gif .

what was that for? Are you trying to gain enough post number so that you can start to request papers or something?

We use a very quick flame of the plate, similar to removing bubbles from agar plates.

there are several methods: f.i. short incubation under vacuum, or a hot needle
