using nanodrop to measure PCR product - (Aug/15/2007 )
Hi,
can I use nanodrop to measure the direct PCR product with no cleaning up assuming that there is only one band on the 1% gel cos I was told that nanodrop can be inaccurate in this situation as the remant dNTP's etc in the reaction may affect the reading
thanks

dNTP affect OD260measurement for sure.
Then you have proteins in your sample that may alter measure too.

PCR reactions have more than just amplified DNA. dNTP's, template DNA, primers and enzymes. These could interfere with the concentration measurement.
