Hi Iv been having real difficulty in finding information on this question:
Q) What are the mechanisms for surviving extreme temperatures in microorganisms?

Here is a hint: have you heard about the term PCR? Guess which polymerase does this method use and from which bacteria was it discovered?

stabilizing enzymes and stable enzymes, steroid content of cell membrane, genetic code (high GC content as G-C bonds are harder to break) etc
