Retrieve dried vector - (Jun/27/2007 )

Hello all,

one of my collegues will receive dried vector DNA (on Whatman paper) from another work group within the next few days and she just asked me how to retrieve it from the paper.
So my question is: is it enough to soak the paper bit in a litte destilled autoclaved water and then centrifuge the liquid out again and do the transformation with that, or are there better ways?

Is better to use TE, if need to keep the salt concentration low use 0.1x-0.5xTE.

Add Tris or water and soak it for few hours and then transform them. Easy and simple.
