UV sterilization! - (Oct/03/2006 )

Hi all,

I have been dealing with a serious problem of amplicon contamination in our lab! We have zeroed down to our primers being contaminated. Does exposure of PCR primers to UV do any good?
If so,
will the UV in the LAFU give enough Lux, I mean will it be 254nm.
will I have to try a UV cross-linker.

What should be the time interval of exposure?

Any suggestions.....please help!! sad.gif

Nothing will help. Reorder the primers and keep a master stock which is not contaminated.

I agree

primers are cheap; your real-time reagents, samples, and your time are expensive
