OH, hey, an often-overlooked resource right under your nose...when I first started realtime almost 3 years ago, was when I made my introduction to this site I got some good tutorials and information on the differences between SYBR and probe-based realtime, and also I think there are some protocols over there that spell it out? it's always good to search the protocol section of this site, it's awesome and it grows all the time

I have a BS in Microbiology and a BS in Molecular Bio and Biochem. I am a research technician. I have also worked in the past as a public health microbiologist; I have roughly 10 years of total bench experience. So, I'm no guru and I'm certainly still learning too, but I've been around the block a few times and learned a few tricks

i looked up for siteas that contain protocols for molecular labs ...i found some that were not

try SYTO9 instead of SYBR

See NAR paper SYTO9 vs. SYBR - it looks les inhibiting and
can be used at high concentrations

Try simple things

1. PubMed
2 type HOMEMADE SYBR REAL-TIME
3 press SEARCH

4. read papers- follow protocols
