Cloning and Charecterization of a Novel Receptor - (Feb/19/2006 )

Hey Guys:

I am a novice when it comes to cloning and the like. Can someone suggest a website or a book or a link which provides some insight into how novel proteins/receptors are cloned and characeterized.

There isn't one-size-fits-all approach.
