I got weird results with Real Time PCR - Primers troubleshooting (Nov/21/2005 )

hi guys
i ran the real time PCR but i got weird results with the control gene i used to normalise the RNA quantity ,the problem is that for the foure cell line RNA's i used the -RT samples for the control gene give a signal(i.e:Ct)that is close to the samples with RT and control gene primers ,and also these -RT Ct were close to eachother ,i used the same RNA with the target gene primers and there is no signal in the -RT sample . so most probably what this mean !!!!!!!!!!!!.

any time you run samples with no RT reaction as a negative control and you get fluoresence, you can probably guess that you have contamination somewhere.

perhaps your contamination is in the primers for your control gene?
