Converting centrifuge speed - (Dec/17/2017 )
Hi,
I want to centrifuge my samples at 25,000 g. However, my centrifuge doesn't have an option of g and I think most of the centrifuges don't have that option either. I have only RCF and RCM options. How can I convert RCF or RCM to g?
I am using a Beckman Coulter Allegra 25R centrifuge.
Thanks.

RCF is relative centrifugal force and is equivalent to g.
Conversion from rpm to g is a matter of an equation that takes into account the radius of the rotor and the spin speed. A good resource is here: https://www.promegaconnections.com/converting-rpm-to-g-force-rcf-and-vice-versa-2/
