Can you autoclave citrate buffer? - (Nov/14/2011 )

My citrate buffer always seems to start growing things a few days after I prepare it even though I filter it. Currently when I make it I freeze it before use. I would like to start putting it in the autoclave, but I can't seem to find a definite answer to this question.
