Differences in PBS - Differences in PBS (Jan/07/2011 )

Why do all PBS contents differ from one and other.
Maniatis, Lonza, R&D, all PBS contents differ. Why is this, what is the difference and what should I use?! (In my case for an ELISA wash buffer)

yes, it's true, but don't forget the most important factor is the pH.

For Elisa wash buffer Sigma PBS or any buffered saline solution is fine pH7.4. You may also add in small amount of BSA. Read some of the entries in the immunoassay/immunology section. Number of washes, inclusion of surfactant, time left in wells are some other variables.

Thanks.
Still weird that the concentrations of the contents can be so different.
