Ponceau Red Staining Problem - (Jul/30/2010 )

Hi all, in my lab I usually do overnight transfers for my gel, and the next morning when I take out the membrane and stains it with Ponceau red, i notices dark red spots appearing on the membrane (which almost looked like burned marks) but it washes out eventually using Tris saline and Tween solution. I am new to western so i'm not sure if this is normal or something wrong with my Ponceau/transfer/or other. Any advice would be appreciated.

It´s normal, Ponceau red washes away.

It could be ponceau crystals, try filtering your solution.
