Odyssey Imaging and EMSA - (Jul/22/2010 )

Hello all,

I am running an EMSA and had it recommended to me to use an Odyssey Imaging device that is available for my use on campus.

My problem is that the area I am targeting is not one of the pre-made oligos available through LI-COR. Does anyone know if I can order primers through invitrogen (or any other company, I'm not terribly picky!) and label it that way? Can I order it directly from invitrogen with a label? I've looked all over the LI-COR site and can't find any hint of a labelling kit for oligos.

Thanks in advance!

Im not sure about Invitrogen, but ive ordered biotin and dig labeled primers for EMSA from Sigma before. Theyre fairly expensive though.

Hope that helps

For the Odessey you need their particular moelcules that are detectable by IR lasers, I don't think Invitrogen or Sigma produce the molecules (they will be proprietary to LI-COR), so you won't have much luck there. I can't remember if you can use the camera on the Odessey system for ordinary wavelenght detection or not, it would pay to check the manual or contact the LI-COR help desk to ask them about it.
