What means BamHI-linkered - (Jul/08/2010 )

Hi everyone,

I need to do a remove an insert for a plasmid. I only have the description of the restriction sites from a paper, no complete sequence. And on the paper, it is written "BamI-likered" about a site. Could you help me , because I don't know what this means...:(

I would guess that they used a BamH1 link to create a compatible restriction site for cloning the target sequence. This will mean that there was a BamH1 site followed by a short (up to 20 bp) sequence of bases ligated to the target sequence.
