cell count and dilution - (Mar/10/2010 )

Hi all,

I have 4 x 10^4 cells/ml and 5 ml of culture and I want to put 5 x 10^4 cells per well in a 24-well plate.

Can anyone explain me how to calculate this ? and total solution i need to prepare for 24 wells.

another question : If I want 10^5 cells at 60-70 % confluency, will it be ok to seed 50,000 cells 18-24h before ?

Use the same equations you would use for making and diluting any other solutions c=n/v and Ci*Vi=Cf*Vf.
