How to do PCR to detect mRNA without RT? - (Feb/18/2010 )

Hi all,

My experiment is going to detect whether some gene's mRNA level is changed or not after some treatment. Is it possible to detect mRNA level without RT using PCR? If it is possible, what's the potential benefit doing this way?
