overnight? - (Jan/24/2010 )

Hey all

I have a funny question, I hope its OK

When I put an andibody overnight in 4c , how long can I put it?
it will be ok if it will be for 24h?

thanks,

Most of my antibodys are stored at 4 degrees and others are frozen at -24 or -80 degrees for long times (years).
All depends on the antibody and the medium it dissolved in.

Overnight should be fine. For extended periods incorporate a preservative such as azide or thimerosal or proclin.

Some Mabs will precipitate if frozen.

Sometimes I just left the blot with the antibody at 4ºC for 48h (some weekends I forgot the blot!! :)) and it was ok (normally I add Azide to my primary antibody dilution)
